Its all about Coolangatta.

" Despite Cook's efforts, in 1846 a ship named the 'Coolangatta' was wrecked off the coast and the town was named in its honour. Thanks to the Surveyor General of the day, many of the place names on the Gold Coast have been derived from Aboriginal words and the word 'Coolangatta' is said to mean 'beautiful place'."

Cooly is nearby Brisbane, where im goin to make my first steps on australian ground.
As already mentioned in my first post on this blog.. ive been told that Cooley is totally awesome. Great people, good weather, a amazing beach, Byron Bay/Burleight/Cabarita/Fingal next door, fantastic surf breaks, stunning opportunities to shop & last but not least there's a pretty cool youth hostel.

I've learned from Claudio's Blog (he spent over one mo
nth in Cooley) that he purely enjoyed the time he spent there.

So i guess it wouldn't be wrong to go there and spend some time, after i gained some experience in Brisbane. At least it seems to be a nice spot to be. Rico, maybe you'll meet me there in October!

The biggest surfshop in Cooly. Kirrasurf!

And that's what the youth hostel looks like:
